How To | Airport 101

Going to the airport can be troublesome, especially if your flight is in the weee hours of the morning. Hussling and hurrying before your flight will take away all your focus on keeping everything in order.

The night before your flight:
*If you are not yet packed during this time. I ask you this  - WHY?
* keep a list of everything you need.
* use the list.
**If you're travelling light, do take note of the word "light". Getting hassled by excess baggage at 4am is bad for your skin.
*prepare your outfit (make sure everything is ironed, set, and easy to wear)
*If you don't have to, don't wear any accessories at all.
*sleep early to save up on excessive make-up. sleeping early can help make you look less stressed.
*If you have to bring bulky shoes like boots and you're saving up on luggage space. Wear it.
If not, do wear comfortable footwear.

Day of flight:
*Go to the airport early like 1-2 hours before your flight schedule. Especially on major international airports, there will be tons of people flying and you want to give yourself enough time for checking in and boarding queue.
* If you need to have a hand carry, make sure you are clear of anything sharp, liquids of more than 15ml and all other aircraft restrictions.
*Place flight documents (tickets, passports, other papers) needed on the front zipper of you bag for easy access.
*Make sure your hand carry bag can fit the overhead bin of the plane.
If it's too big, have it checked it even though it's not that heavy. Remember if it can't fit the overhead bin, it will be placed under your chair. You just lessen your precious leg room and you don't want that!
*/Again/ Don't over accessorize, nothing can piss someone off other than waiting behind someone who have 10,000 chain bracelets on at a metal detector security line.
*If you have body piercing at places we don't need to know, inform the security personnel right away.

On-board:
*keep yourself busy - a book or a game console is your best friend. Also your smartphone, just remember to keep it on airplane mode.
*If you like sleeping like me. bring neck pillow for comfort.
*In-flight food can be pricey so I suggest to eat before boarding.
*If you're too hyper on your trip, remember to keep you chatting voices down, not everyone is excited to hear about your life.
*Airplanes are coooold, keep a light weight jacket/cardigan or scarf with you to keep you warm.
*Do not smoke inside the toilet. please.

Touchdown:
*Keep seated unless the stewardess says so.
*If you have stuff inside the overhead bins, Get it right away and sit right back or else you'll be in the way.
*Always check your seat to see if you dropped something.
*Be kind and thank the crew, it's hard to smile at everyone all day.
*Enjoy your trip!
