Travel | Roadtripping Tagaytay

It's one of those days when you just wanna go out somewhere at random and luckily your friends are into it too. Tagaytay city automatically sprung into mind because it is relatively near Manila so travel time wouldn't be an issue.
Hello Taal Lake

My friends and I decided drive down south. Since we headed off quite late in the afternoon, the plan was to stay overnight for the weekend. We arrived in the city proper at night so we stopped by Tootsie's first for dinner.
Tootsie's Tagaytay is an all Filipino cuisine family restaurant along Aguinaldo highway.
The ambiance was homey and the food was great!

After dinner we went ahead and looked for an inexpensive inn or hostel. Luckily it wasn't the peak season yet for tourist or else we would have a hard time getting a decent place to stay.

**Travel tip: Overlooking views play a huge factor in hotel prices. If you don't mind this, check hotels off road or opposite the "view" side. You'll be surprise with the significant difference in pricing. but off course always be wary of the hotel itself. Cheap doesn't always mean good.

Morning came and we decided to head on over to Leslie's for brunch.
(it's quite funny that these restaurant names are actual people's names lol)
You can never skip Leslie's when you're on Tagaytay. They are famous for their Bulalo and huge servings. Their restaurant overviews Taal lake which is so perfect to busk in the cool weather and sky light.
Lunch is served!

We knew we had to get pasalubongs.
The search for the original Jacobina store was quite an adventure, We only knew that it was in Mendez but what we didn't know that it is located outside of Tagaytay main city hahaha
Jacobina is a delicate, light and crispy local biscuit famous in Tagaytay.
Once we got (hoarded) our Jacobinas, we drove back to the city to check out Sky Ranch.

SkyRanch Tagaytay is a leisure park for locals and tourists. It has restaurants and cafes, pop-up bazaars and theme rides for the kids and kids at heart.
They are most famous for the Sky Eye - currently the second tallest Ferris wheel in the Philippines.
Groupie!
It was a first for all of us so it was quite memorable.

We headed over to my favorite place in the city.
Bag of Beans is a local cafe not only famous for their coffee and food but also their interiors.
There are several branches within the city but where we went is the biggest and the OG branch where it has this beautiful garden that overlooks the lake.
I just love their savory Shepherd's Pie.
Yum!
Chillin'

Summer just kicked in so Tagaytay's cool weather is one of the best place's to visit when you don't like long driving hours but want that feeling of escape and vacation.

and yes, Jacobinas.
More reasons to go back eh?
