Self | The Nannic Experience

Image
How old do you guys think I am? I always have this intro gag to new friends guessing my age. Thanks to my Asian blood I never got higher my actual age, I usually get lower like early 20s or just right. It's quite fun and flattering honestly. Last December I finally hit my third decade, alarming? not really, but I myself can feel that yes I'm not getting any younger so I need to take care of myself. Come 2018,  I finally decided to get back to myself more and skin care is definitely one of them. For the past years, I never actually paid attention to my skincare. I just use regular soap and a facial foam on a daily basis. So I am grateful for the opportunity to try the Nannic Anti-Aging Facial by Europeanne Aesthetics. What is Nannic? Nannic International is a Belgian company that focuses on innovative cosmetic solutions for skin rejuvenation and improvement. Europeanne Aesthetics is the exclusive partner clinic of Nannic International here in Manila. Prep

Art | Save The Earth

Image
April 22 is Earth Day. Earth day is just one day. But I hope the awareness goes on for the rest of the 364 days.  ~~~  "I walk around the city" I walk around the city. I see everything. I see what people choose not to see. I walk around the city. It reaches out to me. I feel the earth crying. I walk around the city.  It pains me. To see it striving, hoping.   I walk around the city. I can hear it's plead to me. Save me. Concept, Model and Poetry - Ian Cartalaba Photogrpahy - Stray Cat Photography ~~~ Love the earth, it's the only one we've got.

Travel | Mt. Ulap Eco Trail

Image
~ Ulap literally means cloud in Filipino. So what would you expect? ~ Mt. Ulap Eco-Trail may be one of the best hikes for those looking for adventure not that far from Manila. The trail is not easy but it offers a combination of pine trees, grassy ridges, rocks formations and of course clouds. The trail is a traverse hike, meaning you won't end up from where you started like a regular hike would. We started at Brgy. Ampucao and ended in Brgy. Santa Fe. It usually takes longer for traverse hikes to finish with longer kilometers and varied peaks. Completing this trail will take about 7-8 hours depending on your pace. It can be day-hiked, like we did or overnight camping. Its only camping spot is at the Ambanao area.  Last group hurdle before we start the trail. The Ampucao-Santa Fe traverse covers 3 main peaks - Ambanao Paoay, Gungal and Mt. Ulap. ~ The hike starts off with tall pine trees, grassy trails and cows randomly strutting around. You are greeted with coo

Travel | Roadtripping Tagaytay

Image
It's one of those days when you just wanna go out somewhere at random and luckily your friends are into it too. Tagaytay city automatically sprung into mind because it is relatively near Manila so travel time wouldn't be an issue. Hello Taal Lake My friends and I decided drive down south. Since we headed off quite late in the afternoon, the plan was to stay overnight for the weekend. We arrived in the city proper at night so we stopped by Tootsie's first for dinner. Tootsie's Tagaytay is an all Filipino cuisine family restaurant along Aguinaldo highway.  The ambiance was homey and the food was great! After dinner we went ahead and looked for an inexpensive inn or hostel. Luckily it wasn't the peak season yet for tourist or else we would have a hard time getting a decent place to stay. **Travel tip: Overlooking views play a huge factor in hotel prices. If you don't mind this, check hotels off road or opposite the "view" side. Y

Travel | The Devil's Mountain

Image
Mt. Cristobal AKa the Devil's Mountain is one of the sought after climbs for local mountaineers because it was said to be mystical and had been closed to the public for years. When we learned that t was opened my Happyfeet Adventours team went ahead and planned a dayhike. summary of my being during the hike haha The trail is mostly composed of continuous assaults. What saved us from further exhaustion was the tall trees that provided shade from the sun and the cool weather. Lunch time at the campsite. There are many campsite options for over-nighters. This photo is one of my favorite shots the whole day. I had to stop my friend while she was trekking ahead me because the light hit her so nice.  I post my adventure photos and videos on my  Facebook . So check them there out as well.  The eco-structure of Mt. Cristobal is eerie because of the tall, mossy trees that somewhat jumped off a Tim Burton movie. It's both scenic and creepy.
